Success That’s Made to Last

You know that real results are those that will stand up against the test of time. You keep that in mind through your work with your clients. At the same time, you appreciate that same mindset when it comes to the organizations that you choose as your partners.

That’s exactly what you get when you team up with CEO and Owner Kirsten Land and Land Enterprises Roofing.

As Kirsten explains, that commitment to creating success that’s made to last began with her late husband, Brian Land, who started in the business when he was just 17 years old. “He loved starting a project, completing it and then going on to the next one. He liked seeing it from beginning to completion,” she says.

Sharing the Same Path

Brian and Kirsten met and started dating at Oklahoma State University. After college, Kirsten began a teaching career that she enjoyed for 12 years, including five years at the middle school level, and another seven years teaching at the high school level. In time, she stepped back from teaching to be a stay-at-home mom. Brian convinced her to come be part of the company.

When she started, her official title was VP/Sales Manager. “Even though I hadn’t been in an official sales role, I found that I was able to use a lot of systems and processes from teaching,” Kirsten remembers. “I brought those to the company in terms of how to document and communicate and shared those with our sales team.”

Rising Above

The family faced tragedy when Brian passed away in 2019. Kirsten and the team rose above the sad circumstances.

“Brian was the founder and visionary of the company. It was a personal tragedy but also a tragedy for the business and the staff who loved him,” she says. “Six days after he passed, we had a major hail storm. I decided to keep the company going.”

There were hurdles that came through the transition period, but they kept moving forward and moved their office to a prime location.

“That time made me a better leader and person. It was a horrible time but it pushed me out of my comfort zone and now things are going very well. We run it with Brian’s legacy … he looked at roofing as a craft. We honor that by using quality materials and the way we put the roof on,” Kirsten points out.

“We put an ice and water barrier on the roof to make sure there aren’t issues. We always have a conversation to make sure we’re putting on what the customer wants and do it in a way that lasts as long as possible. We have core values with the staff.  We make sure everything is done the right way and to our customers’ satisfaction.”

Family Foundation

Away from work, Kirsten’s world is made even richer by her family, including her sons — Daniel and Evan.

In her free time, Kirsten looks forward to times to get away and explore new places with her sons. A couple of favorites have included Japan and Hawaii. She also enjoys supporting them in their activities and plans for the future, as Daniel plans on being a chef, and Evan enjoys playing baseball.

As she looks to the future, Kirsten is excited about the ongoing opportunities each day to work with her team to carry out a true concierge service when it comes to roofing. “We have really run with that. We try to take that stress off their plate. We are responsive and want to be their one point of contact,” she says.

“When a roof gets damaged, other things get damaged too. We come in, work with you and your insurance company to get it all taken care of. We handle all of the sub-contractors to take that stress off the homeowner.”

In the process, the relationship that Kirsten and the team enjoy with their real estate partners is at the center of the entire equation.

“We understand our partners need to get their clients to the closing table on time. Therefore, we make it a priority to conduct inspections and communicate our findings within 24 hours,” she says. “We can take care of the roof items on their TRR report. Whether it's inspecting the roof upon listing for the seller or for the buyer's needs, we're eager to assist and provide guidance. Our goal is to furnish them with comprehensive information, empowering them to make well-informed choices. Ultimately, we strive to be a valuable resource for our partners.”
