Jamie Hanselman

AGENT STORY

STORY BY ZACHARY COHEN

The Birth of a Leader

In June 2019, Jamie Hanselman took a leap of faith, leaving her well-paid corporate job to become a real estate agent. This transition required faith and tenacity, but with a growing family, Jamie was prepared to do what it would take to build a new lifestyle.

Jamie was quite successful as the Staffing Director for an international manufacturing company, but her mindset began to shift after giving birth to her first child. When she welcomed her second son to the world two years later, she knew it was time for a change.

“After I had my second baby, I went back to work, and it lasted two days. I wanted to be with my kids. I knew something had to shift,” Jamie explains.

Jamie’s professional success created a bit of a catch-22. Her family relied on her high-paying salary, so she couldn’t simply walk away and be a stay-at-home mom. She needed another plan.

That’s when she turned to real estate, an industry she had long held an interest in. She consulted with her sister, Mindy Turner, who is an agent herself, and eventually decided to try her hand at a career in real estate. Nearly five years later, Jamie couldn’t be happier with her choice.

“It has been the greatest decision I’ve ever made for my career. I kick myself that I didn’t do this sooner,” she says.

The Core Group

Jamie steadily grew her sales business over the first few years. In January 2023, she started her own real estate team, The Core Group with ERA Courtyard. The group is currently a team of six agents. There is a commercial and a residential division, making them a one-stop shop for a client's real estate buying and selling needs.

“We’re unique in setting ourselves up as the only real estate team anyone will ever need,” Jamie says proudly. “We do land as well.”

Jamie is planning to grow and diversify the team even further. She intends to bring on a Spanish-speaking REALTOR® in the coming months, allowing The Core Group to serve the Hispanic community with more ease and fluidity. She also plans to add a division focused on acquiring short-term rental properties.

“I like training and developing. I have a passion for genuinely helping people. I’ve seen a big success managing a family and a career in real estate, so when I see people where I was four years ago, I want to help them get that flexibility and that income,” Jamie explains. “I’m hoping to be around ten agents by the end of 2024. We're creating systems, training, developing, and helping people build the work/life balance real estate gives you.”

The Heart of a Mother

Jamie is a mom and wife first and a REALTOR® and team leader second. She and her husband, Jacob, have two sons, Ford (6) and Finn (4). Jamie enjoys being a part of their school communities and staying involved in every aspect of their lives. When she’s not working, you’ll find Jamie and her family adventuring – from driving to Dallas to exploring the great outdoors.

Real estate has been a blessing in Jamie’s personal life, allowing her the flexibility to be there for her family as needed and have a great career. Jamie also credits her husband with much of the success she’s been able to achieve. There were many long nights filled with showings and client calls early in her career, and Jacob stepped up to fill in the gaps at home, allowing her career to flourish.

“I could not be where I am today without his support, and I love him so much for that. He is a wonderful father, and we are all very lucky to have him,” Jamie beams.

As Jamie looks ahead, she’s excited to continue growing The Core Group and living each day to the fullest with her family. More than anything, she wants to be known as someone who is continually generous.
