The Connector
Aimee Dauphin has served her community as a mortgage loan officer for the past 25 years. Now a senior mortgage consultant with Legacy Mutual Mortgage, Aimee leads a team and acts as the company’s regional production manager. She’s built a reputation for being more than a transaction loan officer; she’s a relationship builder who seeks to continually lift those around her, helping them to build generational wealth through homeownership.
Getting Her Start
While Aimee has been in the lending business for two and a half decades, she initially headed to college to study criminology. A chance encounter during her senior year led her to take a turn in the real estate world.
“I had a young baby at the time, less than a year old, and I needed to complete an internship to graduate. At the same time, I was working at the District Attorney's office in El Reno. I thought, ‘How am I going to do an internship if they don't pay me?’ We didn't have a lot, and I needed to help make ends meet,” Aimee reflects.
Around this time, Aimee began talking with Bob Black, a gentleman she knew from college, who just so happened to be a loan officer. He encouraged her to consider a career in real estate as a way to have flexibility and make the money she needed. So, Aimee sold real estate for the next two years, allowing her to care for her family and build a career. Then, her friend Bob offered his next idea.
“One day, he said, ‘Aimee, you need to be a loan officer.’ I said, ‘You’ve lost your mind. I don't even know how to do a fee sheet,’” Aimee reflects.
Bob encouraged Aimee. He told her she could succeed in mortgage lending and gave her the support she needed. So, in 1998, Aimee officially launched her lending career.
A Steady Hand
Over the ensuing years, Aimee rose to become one of Oklahoma’s top mortgage loan officers.
“I became passionate about helping people,” Aimee says. “That’s what is most important to me.”
In October 2023, Aimee took the next step in the evolution of her business, joining Legacy Mutual Mortgage as their regional production manager while she continues to grow The Dauphin Team. Why Legacy Mutual Mortgage? Aimee says it’s all about the opportunity the company provides to its employees and clients.
“Legacy is currently 30% owned by their loan officers. We are backed by a large bank, Texas Partners Bank, so we have a lot of capability and funding, but instead of just being board-owned, they are also loan officer-owned and led, which opens opportunities to pivot quickly and cater to our referral partners, clients, REALTORS®, builders, past clients, and more,” Aimee explains.
As a regional production manager, Aimee is tasked with growing the company’s market share in Oklahoma while continuing to cater to clients. With both roles on her plate, she can make an even bigger difference in the lives of others, and anyone who knows Aimee knows that making a positive impact is her number one goal.
Aimee also teaches continuing education courses for REALTORS®, supports her agents’ growth and development, and runs programs for referral partners. Whether closing a loan or teaching a REALTOR® how to generate leads, Aimee centers her attention on serving the person in front of her.
“We’re all about building relationships… It's more than just getting a mortgage on a home.”
Always a Connector
Outside work, you’re likely to find Aimee hanging out with her family and relaxing on the shores of Lake Texoma. She and her husband of 30 years, Joe, have two grown sons. Blake (28), a commercial lender and Market President at Great Plains Bank, and his wife, Sarah, recently blessed Aimee with her first grandchild, Adalynn. Her youngest son, Bryce (21), attends the University of Central Oklahoma.
Aimee wears many hats in life — wife, mother, friend, loan officer, regional production manager, and more. The throughline in each role is her care for the relationships themselves.
“I want to be known as a connector — as the person that cares,” Aimee shares. “I have had people that helped my life, like Bob Black and others, who made it better for me. If I can do that for one person and make a difference in their life, I’ve done my job… One conversation can totally change the direction of someone's life, and I hope I can be that person.”
