Reaching the Next Level

When we last spoke with Britni Nelson in 2022, she had just founded her real estate team. Since then, Britni has successfully taken her business to the next level. The Nelson Home Team, now five agents deep, has evolved into one of Oklahoma City’s fastest-rising real estate groups; they closed 70 transactions for over $16.2 million in 2023. 

Laying the Foundation

Britni was born and raised in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, and met her husband at 19. Just a year later, they married and started a family. Britni’s family has long been the center of her world – and they still are. She began her real estate career in 2017 after years as a stay-at-home mom and a stint in the auto industry.

Over the past seven years, Britni has consistently shown she is willing to put in the work it takes to succeed. She has an unwavering commitment to honesty, excellence, and integrity. She values professionalism, dignity, quality, efficiency, and relationship-building in her business.

After a banner year in 2021, Britni began growing a team. She started with just one buyer’s agent by her side but steadily grew the Nelson Group into the powerhouse they are today.

Culture and Productivity

Britni’s intention in growing a real estate team has more to do with what she’s able to give than what she receives.

“I realized there was something I wanted to give to others — to help guide and teach them what to do — and that’s what drove me to grow this team,” Britni shares.

The Nelson Team consists of predominantly newer agents. These folks leaned on Britni for support early in their careers, appreciated her ethos, and eventually joined her in business. 

“I wanted to help these agents – that was the main driver from the beginning,” she continues. “The vision was to be someone who was there with them every step of the way, helping them build the business, learn contracts, and understand the basics. I go to inspections with my agents. I do open houses alongside them. I’m there with them until they get the jist of everything. I think that makes better agents and a stronger team.”

As they head into a new year, Britni and the Nelson Team are looking to take the next step in their growth. She has also taken on a coaching position in the office; she will be putting out a program for other agents and will eventually offer one-on-one sessions. 

Britni has stood by LIME Realty as the platform where she plans to build her brand, as the brokerage’s values align best with hers. While many top real estate professionals opt for large companies, Britni was drawn to LIME Realty for its culture and vision.

Pouring Into the Community

While Britni is keenly focused on growing her real estate business, she has other passions, too: giving back to her community and caring for her family. She continually seeks places to volunteer and even “adopts” a family each Christmas. 

“We also want our clients to feel like family, build our own little community, and pour back into people,” she says.

At home, Britni is a devoted wife and mom. She and her husband, Tanner, have three children: Layla (11), Jerzee (9), and Knox (3). They enjoy spending time at the lake, skiing, and traveling. She and her husband recently returned from a trip to Costa Rica without the kids, and they are planning a family vacation to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico in 2024. Jerzee has her sights set on a trip to Paris, so Britni and her husband have plans to make that happen in the works.

Kindness and compassion are the throughlines between Britni’s roles as a REALTOR®, team leader, community advocate, and family woman. She says, “You get farther in business and life by being kind.”
