You can tell when you see professionals who pour themselves into everything they have with purpose and passion.
One of those who exemplifies those traits is Paul Mazzalongo.
As a real estate sales professional with Real Broker LLC, Paul is committed to building with his best on behalf of those he serves.
“My approach to life and business is that I really have no idea what the future holds. I just try to do today better than yesterday,” Paul says with a smile. “I have grown to appreciate many different aspects of being a REALTOR®. In the beginning, it was primarily my love of architecture, design and experiencing the different spaces people lived in. Also, the idea of freedom and unlimited earning potential definitely had me interested.”
Getting His Start
Paul earned his real estate license and started his journey in the business in 2007. As Paul points out, each real estate deal is unique and requires a customized plan to get through.
“Some deals are simple and straightforward, and some deals are complicated and frustrating. I find the most fulfillment in the deals where I know I have made a difference,” Paul emphasizes.
“There are times when you know that ‘it’ wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t found the solution or didn’t orchestrate the variables in a way that brought both parties together to a closing. Successfully navigating a complex deal also usually results in life-long clients.”
Finding New Opportunity
Paul was born in Montreal, Canada, but he moved to Oklahoma, where he came of age and served the nation as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.
“I enlisted into the Marine Corps infantry before graduating from high school and reported for duty shortly after graduating,” he remembers. “I underwent every type of combat training offered at the time and was deployed throughout the Pacific Rim, including Hawaii, Japan, Korea and Australia, to mention a few.”
After completing his service, Paul attended Texas Tech University, followed by radiology school. In time, he was ready for a new path.
“I quit radiology school midway through and moved back to Canada. I obtained my REALTOR®'s license there and started my career in real estate,” he remembers. “In 2007, my wife and I moved back to Oklahoma, where I went to work in the oil field. Two years later, I went to Tinker AFB and worked as a hydraulic mechanic on military jets; I was miserable. Two years later, I quit Tinker and returned to real estate, where I belong.”
Gratitude
As he looks back on his experiences, Paul is grateful for the challenges, experiences and people who have helped him grow along the way.
“The Marine Corps forced me to grow up, taught me discipline and how to fight; however, the ones who have influenced me the most are my parents,” he says. “The strong Christian principles taught and demonstrated to me growing up have had the most profound effect on who I am today.”
Through time, Paul has continued building a remarkable record of results in real estate, averaging around 30 transactions each year.
Service Over Sales
In the process, Paul centers on service … not “sales.”
“I may be a ‘sales professional.’ However, my business is different because I don’t ever ‘sell’ my clients anything. Obviously, I work to sell a listing for a client, but I never try to convince them to do anything,” Paul emphasizes.
“By genuinely putting the client’s interests first, you develop a good reputation. Having a good reputation is conducive to longevity in this business, and like most industries, success comes from the relationships you build with people.”
Family Foundation
One of the most satisfying chapters in Paul’s life revolves around family, including his wife, Rachel.
“Rachel is part of everything I do. She is the most important person in the world to me … before kids, family or anyone. She is just as responsible for any success I have achieved as I am. Like many men, becoming a father has been pivotal for me. My wife and I have three children,” he smiles. “I would have to say that I make very few decisions without them, or my wife, in mind. I work harder, drive slower and take fewer risks than I used to.”
In his free time, Paul enjoys family time, supporting their children through their activities in school and church. They also like to fish, target shoot, swim and play basketball, and enjoy family game nights and epic Nerf gun battles. They also like exploring different restaurants or just enjoying a nice dinner in.
In addition, Paul likes to spend his free time playing golf or shooting at a local range once a month. Faith is also an essential part of his life.
As he says, “I want to be remembered as someone who followed Jesus Christ first, then as someone who helped others.”
Congratulations to Paul for making a lasting impact in the lives of others by building with his best.
