Lindsey and Brandon Hart each got their professional starts in corporate settings, yet both soon discovered they were pulled toward an entrepreneurial life. Over the past 18 years, Lindsey and Brandon have teamed up to lead one of Oklahoma’s most dynamic real estate teams.

Beginnings

Lindsey is originally from Duncan, Oklahoma, and later moved to Lawton, where she met Brandon. She attended the University of Central Oklahoma on a vocal music scholarship, where she studied journalism and public relations.

Lindsey began her professional life working in public relations and finance for the Bank of Oklahoma. She soon discovered she wanted to own a business, and in 2003, she started her real estate career. Her enthusiasm for renovating historic homes played a major role in her choice to obtain her real estate license.

Brandon grew up in Lawton, and he, too, attended the University of Central Oklahoma, where he played baseball on a scholarship and majored in business. While working at a Christmas tree farm with his baseball team in the off-season, he hit it off with an owner of a Xerox agency, who offered Brandon an internship opportunity. Their rigorous sales training provided the platform for Brandon to learn the value of client relationships. After two years, Brandon decided to join his wife in real estate, officially forming the Hart Home Selling Team in 2004.

“I wanted to work in an interpersonal environment where I help others and feel a sense of purpose,” Lindsey explains.

“The idea of being your own boss appealed to us. We knew at a young age that you can’t achieve anything without hard work and dedication. Who you surround yourself with matters,” Brandon adds.

Together, Lindsey and Brandon quickly became multi-million-dollar producers. They formed a team at a time when the idea was still in its infancy, and today, they continue to use their tried-and-true team model.

“The team is our family, our glue,” Brandon says. “Everyone on our team is family to us. When many teams focused on agent count, we focused on the people.”

Living in Their Purpose

Over the years, Lindsey and Brandon have focused on building a sustainable, lasting business that can thrive in a shifting market. During the Great Recession, they found a way to get creative and succeed, and in today’s ever-changing post-pandemic market, they’re continuing to thrive.

Today, the Hart Home Selling Team operates out of Oklahoma City. In 2021, the team closed 236 transactions for $54 million.

“We work with coaches in our industry to be constantly prepared for an ever-changing market and industry,” Brandon explains. “When we noticed the industry going digital, we made our first and only change in brokerages. We left Keller Williams after 17 years, which we still love and respect. We moved to the first completely virtual cloud-based brokerage, eXp Realty, which aligns our business and team members [with] an opportunity to meet all of our end goals.

“I personally operate best with personal, face-to-face interactions, and eXp allows us more time to do just that,” Lindsey adds.

Lindsey and Brandon’s decision to become real estate agents and business owners was driven by their desire to live a life of purpose. They believe that connection to their purpose of giving back and helping others is crucial. Living a life by design allows Lindsey and Brandon to serve others — whether they’re helping clients buy or sell a home, assisting a team member, or giving back to the community.

Giving Back

Lindsey and Brandon are enthusiastic about giving back to the Oklahoma City community. They have served as co-chairs on the Ronald McDonald Red Shoe Gala Committee for the last five years. Lindsey serves on the Heritage Hall Gala Committee, and they are both active members of St. Luke's Methodist Church.

Family and Community

Lindsey and Brandon are passionate about their business, home life, and community. Their twins, Mia and Harrison, are now 9.

“We love the great outdoors … family beach time and ski excursions. Brandon captains a boat whenever we can get away. I am his first mate, and our kiddos are perfect deckhands,” Lindsey smiles. “Our favorite is chartering a boat in the British Virgin Islands and snow skiing anywhere with family and friends.”

One of the gifts of the real estate business is the opportunity for flexibility, and Lindsey and Brandon have unlocked the code on how to balance work and family life. They enjoy travel, and their team is built to back them up when they are out of town or working remotely.

As Lindsey and Brandon reflect on their path to the present moment, a sense of excitement about the future also arises. They have long careers ahead of them, and their goal is to be nothing short of exceptional.

“[We want to be remembered for] helping others [and for] being the best we can be — [the best] parents, friends, son/daughter, and mentors. For being a good dude,” Brandon says.

“[The future holds] continued success and good health. We are in a competitive market and realize that our industry is constantly changing, so we want to always be learning and teaching.”

Harts Collide

Lindsey and Brandon met in high school in Lawton. Although their first two years of college took them on divergent paths, they eventually chose to come together and continue their education together at UCO. That moment solidified their commitments to each other. In June of 2003, Brandon and Lindsey were married in an outdoor ceremony at Lake Texoma with 350 of their friends and family by their side. Today, they reside in Nichols Hills with their two children, Mia and Harrison, their dog, Gertie, and with occasional visits from their pig, Charger (who now resides on a friend's farm with his goat friends).

“It’s hard to believe we’ve been married 18 years. This ride has just begun, and it’s always an adventure with your best friend by your side,” Lindsey says.

“Couldn’t be more blessed. She’s the love of my life,” Brandon says.
