You’ve seen the impact firsthand many times. You walk into a home and the property grabs you and your clients.

In that moment, it was probably a blend of several things that caught your eye and grabbed your spirit. But one of those that likely made a tangible impact was the flooring in that space.

Real Value

The truth is that flooring plays a major role in the perceived and actual value of a property. That’s why it means so much to have a partner on your side like Bart Brewer, COO at Brewer Carpet One.

When you talk with Bart, you can see the pride he has in providing quality and service through time.

“We’ve been around a long time and we want people to know they’re dealing with a solid stand-up company that will be here to serve them and their customers. We are always fair and provide good service,” Bart says.

“We have four stores in the metro and Stillwater. We handle all types of business. When it comes to installations, we have people who have been with us for years. We have good buying power and are able to offer good pricing.”

Legacy of Results

Brewer Carpet One was begun in 1983 by Bart’s father.

“He had been a flooring representative for one of the mills in the Northeast. He liked his time in Oklahoma and thought Edmond would be a good place to start. He started with one store there and then joined Carpet One in 1989.”

Bart partners in business with Rick Ogle, who serves as CEO and has been with the company for 35 years. He has responsibility for sales, builder divisions, and products.

“I came on in 2001 doing advertising and IT things. I had worked in the warehouses growing up and worked up through time,” Bart remembers. “Ultimately I am proud to keep our family business going. It’s not just the number of employees. It’s also what we are doing for our customers. Flooring does a lot for someone’s home. It’s being able to take care of customers and get those jobs just right.”

On the Leading Edge

Bart has seen many trends come and go in the flooring industry. Today, he acknowledges the industry’s shift toward hard surfaces in a home.

“It has become a bigger part of what we do, including laminates and engineered woods. The coloring had tended to go a bit lighter. And using tiles with many styles and colors in a kitchen and a bathroom,” Bart says.

“We always want to hear their thoughts and ideas for what they want to do and figuring out the application and adding ideas that can help out, along with the types of products that may work better in certain areas. With our REALTOR® partners, we work to move the process forward by offering the best product for their purpose and budget.”

Family Foundation

Away from work, Bart treasures time with his family, including his three daughters.

In his free time, he enjoys supporting his daughters at their soccer games and track meets. He also has a passion for playing golf.

As Bart looks to the future, he is grateful for his 75-person Oklahoma team.

“We’ve been successful, and we appreciate everything that our team does. We are really proud of the staff that we have,” Bart says. “They are what makes what we do successful. We’ve had many people with us for a long time.”

At the end of the day, the team is driven to provide their partners and clients with an enjoyable experience.

“We always want them to believe that the process wasn’t as hard as they thought it would be,” Bart says. “There’s no doubt that it is a big process. We want the process from beginning to end to be smooth. We are here to get them the product they really wanted and done right and that it matches what they pictured and imagined.”
