Lending with Heart

Kyle Robertson has been in the mortgage lending business for nearly 20 years, and he is as passionate about the business today as he was when he started. While the market has shifted and changed over the past two decades, Kyle’s affinity for developing relationships, solving problems, and forming lasting partnerships has been unwavering.

Beginnings

Kyle was born and raised in Moore. His first love was soccer, which helped him get to college. After graduating with a degree in family studies, Kyle played a year of professional soccer for Kansas City Attack before returning to Oklahoma.

Kyle worked in the life insurance business for a year and a half, then spent another year and a half in banking. In 2003, he transitioned to mortgage lending, finally finding his professional home.

Kyle took an immediate liking to the mortgage business. That carried him toward professional success and what has now become a 20-year career (and counting).

Supreme Service

Today, Kyle is a producing branch manager with Supreme Lending, one of Oklahoma’s top lending outfits.

As a loan officer and manager, Kyle understands how vital communication and transparency are. Whether he’s talking directly with a client or relaying information to a REALTOR®, he leads with honesty.

“I want REALTORS® to know how seriously we take transparency with our REALTOR® and referral partners in our daily activities. We believe when the financing side of the transaction goes smoothly, the REALTOR® gets recognition from their buyer or client for that smooth transaction. My job is to close quickly with ‘wow’ customer service to make our REALTOR® partners look like rockstars,” Kyle says.

Kyle and his team are devoted to continuous improvement. They understand their job is to close loans, but they believe it also goes a step further. Kyle and his team aspire to be the absolute best in the business. They aim to become better partners and loan officers every single day.

Kyle’s hard work pays off in the form of personal fulfillment. He feels right at home in the mortgage lending business.

“I cannot imagine a more rewarding job,” he beams.

Meeting People Where They Are

Back in 2006, when Kyle was just getting his start in the business, he went through a trying time in his personal life. His dad, who was also his best friend, passed away unexpectedly. This tragic event took a toll on Kyle and his business. The emotional turmoil took center stage, and Kyle went six months without closing a loan. As the months went on, his company draw began to pile up.

“When I was called to the office, I was certain I was being fired,” he reflects, “But the news I got was that they were going to give me a fresh start and wipe out all the money I owed the company.”

That day, Kyle was given two gifts. One was the fresh start he received from his company. The second was the understanding that managing people is not always about numbers.

“More often, it’s about life,” Kyle says.

Now that Kyle is a manager himself, he leads with the same compassion he received all those years ago. That’s helped his team become a family.

“[I want people to know] how sincere I am about having the heart of a teacher and wanting to teach people how to buy houses," Kyle says. “[I want to be remembered] for being a good dad to my kid and someone who cares about my community.”

Beyond the Office

Kyle’s daughter, Riley (16), is a junior at Edmond North High School. Most of Kyle’s time away from work is spent with Riley or hanging out with friends in his neighborhood, Highland Trails. He’s often called The Mayor of Highland Trails; he even has a golf cart that says “The Mayor” on the front.
