Prestige. Success. Branding. These are some of the reasons real estate agents are known for their cars. Whether it be a luxury car, sports car, classic car, or an SUV, top producing agents in the OKC love their cars, and the one thing they all have in common? They are FUN to drive!

Tell us about you and your background.
I have a degree in business administration and radiologic technology.  I specialized in orthopedics after getting my radiologic technologist degree in 1993.  I worked for 20+ years in the field of radiology in many aspects.  I did plain X-ray, MRI, CT, surgery, office work, insurance verification, medical assisting, management, and director of imaging.  I enjoyed the spontaneity of the emergency room, but I especially loved surgery and seeing how surgeons could put the bones back together after a traumatic injury or accident.

Who or what led you to a career in real estate?
After working in surgery for many years, I realized there had to be more for me outside of the freezing surgical room.  I loved my patients, coworkers, and surgeons, but it was time for a change.  I started studying real estate and reading everything I could get my hands on real estate related.  I remember one of my surgeons asking me why I was reading so much about real estate. I said, "I am going to start flipping houses."  He said, "I understand, and how can I help you, I have faith in you." That was all I needed to hear.  The next month, I purchased my first property.  I flipped a few houses and turned a nice profit, then came 2009!  The market fell, and everyone wondered how I would handle it.  In 2009, I became a landlord and learned about the Buy and Hold Process. I still own several of those homes as well as a few more that have been added to my portfolio over the last two years.  I am so thankful for the surgeon that said, "If you are half as good at real estate as you are as an X-ray tech, you will be phenomenal!"  At that point, I knew I could do anything I set my mind to!

What sparked your interest in cars? If applicable, tell us the story behind the vehicle you are featuring.
I have always loved fast beautiful cars.  I have had so many, it's hard to count.  If I kept a car for more than a year or 30,000 miles, it was very rare.  I had a yellow firebird in 1993, which I purchased when I graduated from X-Ray school.  I actually chased a lady down the street and asked her where she bought it. She said, "Oh, it's not mine.  My husband owns the car dealership and I am just taking it for a drive."  Later that day, I drove it back to OKC.  During Covid, I decided my 2019 special edition Honda Civic was not what I had thought it would be and was, as I was starting to have severe back pain from the bucket seats. You know all the "wheel-estate us REALTORS® do".  I started looking around and someone suggested an Acura.  I didn't know anything about them and didn't really care for them.  I was thinking about going back to another 2-seater convertible BMW.  I went and looked at the Acura's as soon as Covid had lifted to see cars in person.  I walked into the showroom, and there she was-Miss Ruby!  I was in love! She was the most beautiful red color I had ever seen.  They said she was a collector car as only 360 had been made in the US.  She is #354.  I learned she was made at a special manufacturing facility where the NSX was made.  They shipped her in plastic and an enclosed cargo truck.  She had 2 miles on her when I drove her off the showroom floor in April 2020.  She has every option you could think of for Acura and drives like a dream.  A little bird tells me she gets low handles great at 160mph.  I have had several offers to purchase her, but I have not seen anything else I love.  From the suede leather seats to the lighted trim inside.  Oh, my!  Swoon!

How does your love for cars and your career in real estate intertwine, if at all?
As I mentioned "wheel-estate" earlier, a must-have for an always-on-the-go REALTOR® is a stylish automobile that is also comfortable, with all the necessities we need while out and about.

Is there anything else you want us to know about you and/or your love of cars?
My love of cars started at the age of 16 with fast, sporty, flashy cars from tricked-out trucks to TransAms.
