During her two decades in the fashion industry, Cindy Keathly enjoyed international success. But after 20 years of traveling the world for business, she was ready for a change. There was a lot to love about her work in the fashion industry, and Cindy hoped to find a new career that would allow her to continue to explore her passion for entrepreneurship, design, and service. As a mother of two, she desired flexibility to be there for her family.

“I became burnt out from my international traveling that my business required but loved the relationships I formed over my career. I wanted to continue applying my problem-solving skills I had developed while still helping others,” Cindy explains. “Real estate felt like a natural next step.”

So, in 2017, Cindy began a new adventure in real estate. Although real estate seemed to be a natural fit, Cindy also describes the transition as scary. She left a proven and stable career for the unknown of a new venture. Yet, with determination, hard work, and consistency, she has achieved tremendous success.

Rising to the Top

Cindy launched her real estate career in 2017, and just four years later, she opened eXp Realty’s first office in Edmond alongside her business partner, Rawlyn Brown. It’s been a fast rise to the top.

Cindy chose eXp for the company’s industry-best innovation and tools. The digital platform offers a more streamlined experience for both agents and clients, and Cindy has added her personal touch to the culture of the local office.

“We combine the digital with the in-person relationship, and it’s a perfect match,” Cindy explains. “Since my transition to eXp in August, we have grown to an organization of over 20 successful, producing agents. We are leading the way for a diverse, outside-the-box thinking office that collaborates and lifts each other up. This is the reason we are growing so quickly.”

In 2021, Cindy closed 36 transactions for $15.3 million personally, and eXp Oklahoma closed $1.48 billion.

Oklahoma Born and Bred

Cindy was born and raised in Ponca City. Both of her parents were teachers, and her father was a rancher. Although she went off to obtain a degree in fashion marketing and even lived in Dallas for 10 years, Cindy has held on to her Oklahoma values.

“My parents had the worth ethic, faith, and drive that shaped my life, both personally and professionally,” she says. “They have also taught me that when the horse bucks you off, you get right back on. This industry isn’t always a nice one, but with a positive attitude and care for clients and other agents, the direction always turns upward.”

Starting with her upbringing, Cindy has learned that relationships matter over everything else. She believes that every relationship is valuable and serves a purpose.

“I also learned that not having everything figured out is okay,” she adds. “That leads to bigger faith and trust in God.”

Centered on Family and Faith

Cindy and her husband, Jonathan, have been married for 20 years. Jonathan is a teacher and football coach at Crossings Christian School, and together, the couple has two children, Anabelle (13) and Kannon (10). Family and faith are at the center of everything they do.

“We certainly aren’t perfect, but making intentional time for each other is what we have realized is invaluable for our relationship,” she says. “He is so supportive, patient, and my biggest encourager.”

Cindy and her family enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling. She also has a passion for exercise; she teaches at The Body Barre in downtown Edmond and participates in the OKC Memorial half-marathon. She’s been a member of Life Church for over 12 years, serves on the EBR auction committee, and is a sponsor for the Edmond Women’s Club Annual Gala.

Fun Fact

Cindy has an identical twin sister who also lives in Edmond. “We have so much fun raising our kids together and cause a stir wherever we go.”

The Future is Bright

Professionally, Cindy hopes to continue growing her brokerage and building upon her success.

“With eXp, the sky's the limit,” She says. “With the stock options and [the] agent growth opportunities eXp offers, I can continue to do what I love for a long time to come. I am continually looking for agents that are like-minded, hard-working, and ready for someone to lay out a path for them to take their next step in real estate.”

Personally, Cindy hopes to continue living in the moment, taking nothing for granted.

“Losing my dad and mother-in-law in the last few months has reminded me of this [value],” Cindy says. “I want to love my career but never miss dinner with my family. I want to be a mom first, entrepreneur second. I want to be at every baseball game and recital. I want to inspire thousands of women, but most importantly, my kids. I want to be present for date nights with my husband. I want to put my health before my work. I don’t want to hustle 24/7. I want freedom.”
