Allison Wanjon: The Power of Mindset

Before launching her real estate career in 2017, Allison Wanjon spent over twenty years in the multilevel marketing world. While it was a tough business, her experience in direct sales helped her gain the skills that would eventually make her one of Oklahoma’s top real estate agents.

“The reason I’ve been successful has been getting my mind right. Mindset is huge. I think a lot of people are missing that,” Allison explains. “I started doing personal development at age 20. Having positive energy and always thinking positively—that's something I've practiced for a very long time.”

After two decades in multilevel marketing, during which she also taught private music lessons, Allison found herself at a crossroads. She was pregnant with her fifth child, homeschooling her kids, and wanted to make a bigger difference in the lives of those she touched. So, she took a leap of faith, transitioning out of her former roles and into the real estate business. As a former military spouse, she had friends from many different states, and a career in real estate seemed like a logical next step.

“I really love helping people and have been doing that my whole adult life. I love to help and love to teach. I was already helping people find houses because I was a military spouse for a long time. I have friends from all over, and I would always help them find homes and refer them to a REALTOR®. After doing that many times, I realized I could make money doing something I loved to do.”

Real estate also offered Allison the opportunity to make a bigger difference in the lives of others, and that was attractive to her. So, she set out to become a REALTOR® who truly cares.

Seven years later, Allison is thriving in real estate. While it took her two and a half years to get her business off the ground, she’s now one of Oklahoma City’s top agents. In 2023, she closed 60 homes for $15 million. She also leads a small team at Collection 7 Realty.

“My goal is to be lifelong friends with my clients,” Allison shares. “Clients like working with me because I'm personable, and they know I care. I’m going to be honest with them. Their experience is more important than a paycheck for me. I pretend people have a sign around their neck saying, ‘Make me feel important.’ I always want people to feel important and valued.”

Outside of real estate, Allison spends time with her husband, Adrian, and their five children: Jaxon (18), Harly (14), Asher (12), Judah (9), and Koah (5). She plays the piano at church twice a week, homeschools her children, and recently purchased 23 acres of land, where she plans to have a small farm and homestead. While her real estate business soars, she sets aside time for her family, understanding that they are her priority.

“You just have to protect some family time,” Allison continues. “I’m sure my family would tell you I work 24/7, but I also make sure to schedule vacations with my family, no phones at the dinner table, etc. They know I'll respond to my clients but also that they get my full attention when I'm through.”

Just seven years ago, Allison was beginning her real estate career, unsure where this new path would take her. Slowly but surely, she’s proven that the combination of hard work, a positive mindset, and a commitment to helping others get what they want can take anyone to the top of their field. And yet, when asked what she wants to be remembered for, Allison shied away from naming her status as a top agent. Instead, she pointed toward her faith.

“I want people to remember that I loved Jesus and I treated them well, that I was kind, cared about what was best for them, and that I went above and beyond to make their lives better.”
